The top 10 iconic Australian landmarks everyone should see once in their life

Although many Australians list iconic landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, Colosseum or Machu Picchu on their travel bucket lists, many people forget that Australia is abundant with iconic and totally unique landmarks – right here in our own backyard.

From sprawling national parks to architectural wonders and spectacular coastlines, Australia is home to some of the most breathtakingly beautiful natural landscapes in the world. With that in mind, RentalCarProtection.com.au surveyed 1000 Australian residents about which parts of Australia they would most recommend visitors see.

The survey revealed that 70% of Australians would recommend the Great Barrier Reef to travellers, making it Australia’s most popular landmark.  Despite this, only one-third (33%) of Australians say they have actually visited the marine park themselves. Which begs the question, how many Australians have actually  seen Australia’s most iconic landmarks themselves?
