If you love vanilla slices – who doesn’t?! – then this is the story for you.
The Kmart Pie Maker Recipes, Tips and Ideas Australia Facebook group has knocked it out of the park yet again, with one member creating this epic creation.
Home cook and Kmart Pie Makers follower Dianne shared her recipe for Vanilla Slice Pies – and we have to say, they look like a dream come true!
Using the $29 Kmart gadget, Dianne reveals how she combined one packet of Cottee’s Instant Vanilla Pudding mix with 300ml of cream and 150ml of milk using an electric hand beater to make the filling.
Then, using 3 sheets of puff pastry, she blind baked the pastry pie bottoms in the pie maker for about two minutes with the lid closed and then another minute with the lid open. Dianne then spooned in some of the custard mixture, before placing a pastry lid on top and cooking until golden brown.
She then allowed them to cool before dusting them with icing sugar. YUM! Dianne, you’re a genius!
Needless to say the Vanilla Slice Pies have gone down a treat with the Facebook group’s other members, with her amazing post attracting almost a thousand likes.
“OMG THIS IS AMAZING!” wrote one member. Said another: “This is heaven!” Added a third: ‘Omg .. you just won me!’
