You might have missed more than one spot when you clean your kitchen. Here are the top 5 hidden areas that are often overlooked.

1. Cleaning kitchen cabinets

Cleaning the inside and outside of your cabinets are part of most people’s kitchen clean-ups, but the space between the cabinets and the floor is one we always forget. Don’t be shocked to find spills that have hardened and gone sticky overtime.

Grab a microfibre cloth and spray an all-purpose cleaner to scrub away the grease and grime.

2. Your Greasy Vent Hood

After a big fry-up, most people clean their splashback immediately but how about the vent hood? For safety reasons, this is one that you musn’t forget. The longer you leave it, the grease and debris will add up and potentially be a fire hazard.

Before grabbing your cleaning supplies, dismantle the vent hood and soak all the pieces in warm soapy water for at least 30 minutes. Then, with a piece of steel wool scrub the vents and rinse with warm water and dry well.

3. Underneath stove tops

Another neglected area is underneath your stovetop. If you take a look, you’ll find crumbs and grease that could also be a fire hazard.

After removing the burners, lift the top and simply wipe up any crumbs and spills. Just be cautious of electrical wires.

4. Top of the refrigerator

If you run your finger on the top of your refrigerator, you’ll find a nasty surprise of dust and grime.

Dip a cloth in warm, soapy water, and wipe across the top and exterior. Repeat as needed.

5. The toaster

If you notice a toaster burning smell when you use your toaster, it’s definitely time to clean it. Crumbs accumulate in the bottom of the tray and need to be discarded.

Make sure to unplug the toaster before giving the exterior a wipe-down. If your toaster has a removable tray, discard the crumbs first before giving it a clean as well.
