- Packets of seeds
- Vermiculite
- Propagation heat pad
- Grow lamp
You’ll also need
- Toilet roll tubes
- Scissors
- Sticky tape
- Washi tape

STEP 3
Snip down about 5cm at each corner with scissors and fold in the flaps to create planter bases.
STEP 4
Keep tubes intact by using sticky tape (it may unfold with moisture but is less visible than other tapes). Give tubes washi tape labels.
STEP 5
Stand pots in tray and fill with seed-raising mix. Plant seeds as per packet instructions. Cover seeds with vermiculite and sprinkle with warm water.
STEP 6
Cover pots with plastic wrap to retain moisture. Set tray on heat pad until seeds sprout, then remove plastic. Place seeds under grow lamp for 14-16 hours a day, until seedlings are ready to transplant to your garden or larger pots.
