If you absolutely love the coastal vibe, and you have a little spare time this coming weekend, you’ll get a kick out of making this sweet succulent planter. The best thing is – it’s as simple as it looks!

Here’s how

Pick up a large seashell (hunt for real or resin shells in craft and homewares stores) then, using a drill, bore a small drainage hole in the base of the shell. Fill the inside of the shell with a thin layer of free-draining material, such as pebbles or gravel, top with special succulent and cactus potting mix (available from your local nursery or garden centre), and then add your selection of succulents. Now’s your chance to pinch a few succulent cuttings from friends and family! Once you’re done, place the shell in a sunny spot in your garden and water as required. That’s it, easy!
