You will need the following:
- Woolies mud cake
- Cake board
- A knife
- Buttercream
- Food colouring
- Spatula
- Wafers
- A chocolate button
- A giant marshmallow
Method:
- Cut the cake into four pieces. The biggest piece will be Bluey’s head, and the remaining pieces will be the nose and ears.
- Square off the biggest piece, prop it up on a cake board, and lightly squash the nose on.
- Cut the icing off the ears and set them aside.
- Now make a basic buttercream and separate it into three batches. Add a few drops of blue colouring to make a colour close to navy, and set this aside.
- Add a drop of blue colouring to your second batch to make a light blue colour and spread this over the head. Then tint the final batch to a tan cream colour and spread this over the nose piece. Once it is all smooth, place the cake in the fridge so the buttercream can become firm.
- Once firm, take it out of the fridge and start piping the navy buttercream over the top of the head for bluey’s patches. Carefully place the cake ears on and also cover this with the navy buttercream. Make two little ears using wafers and pop them on too.
- Pipe some eyebrows using the light blue buttercream. Add a chocolate button for the nose. Cut two slices off a giant marshmallow to make the eyes, then use M&M’s for the pupils.
